Lots of work is being done to create strong foundations for the event into the future... here are some important guidelines we are putting into place:
Core Values:
Accessibility - Allow access to those who wish to experience all that MJC has to offer
Open - Operate with an open mind and be available for conversation, discussion, ideas or feedback
Connect - Foster connection within circus and the wider community on all levels
Honesty - Always speak the truth
Ethical - Treat others with the respect they deserve; treat others as you like to be treated yourself
Core Purpose:
Melbourne Juggling Convention is an annual event which aims to connect people with like minds and comparable interests within circus arts and physical theatre. Priding itself on broad accessibility, Melbourne Juggling Convention ensures that people of any age, background, ability and creed have access to and can benefit from all that the Convention offers. Through the common goal of learning, creating, experimenting and collaborating, the Convention inspires people to develop new skills for themselves, new connections with others and to hone their abilities within the world of performance. Through its assistance to individuals in developing their skills and connecting with peers, the Melbourne Juggling Convention also provides the broader arts sector with new artists and facilitators who have fresh ideas and a serious passion for working within the industry.

Post event wrap up
Without a doubt MJC2010 was a massive hit!
Thank you to the guests that put in hours and hours of their energy to make it happen:
Adrian Kirk, Ben Bryant, Bob Carr and Kim Potter.
To Luth Wolff for stepping into the role of 2IC. Without you, it simply wouldn't work.
To the numerous volunteers behind the scenes making bunting, signage, passes, the lamination station and the hours spent during the event making everything happen. By everything, I mean EVERYTHING!
To the Public Show crew - Ele, Dan, James, Cian, Adam, Luth. What a stonking great show!
To all the fabulous participants for coming and supporting the event, attending & running workshops, clapping, shouting and laughing during the shows.
To the participants of the Act Devising Program. Whether or not you performed in the Creative Edge, your enthusiasm has meant that the ADP will be available as part of MJC2011!!! This is a huge development for MJC and the future!
Thanks also goes to Little Devils Recreation for their continued and most valued support.
As a result of the AGM on Monday 20th September, we now have a 20-strong team of people based around Melbourne, Australia and the world. With Christian in Tasmania, running the event will be absolutely possible now. Thank you to each of you who put your name down to be a part of MJC2011.
Lastly, be sure to check out the new video - Christian Parr (Artistic Director) interviewed on JJJ, plus photographic highlights.

Press press press!
MJC is HOT on the PRESS.
THE AGE:
Jugglers throw a party
IT might be an ancient skill but juggling is experiencing somewhat of a revival thanks to modern technology. The artistic director of the four-day Melbourne Juggling Convention Christian Parr (right) said juggling aficionados are learning new tricks off internet sites such as Youtube and Facebook. ''You just keep adding to your repertoire and then you want to learn new tricks.'' The convention drew more than 300 aspiring and accomplished jugglers from the age of six to in their 60s at Collingwood College yesterday. ''They are all here in the name of fun,'' Parr said.
